Woodward invented the Pile Turner and Jogger-Aerator over 63 years ago, and has over 5,000 installations worldwide. Don’t settle for a copy. Since 1952, Woodward has stood for Quality, Service, and Dependability.
Woodward Jogger Aerators is pleased to announce the first sale of its newest model P60120 (dubbed the “Titan”) to Fibre Convertors of Constantine, Michigan. While Woodward’s previously largest model jogger aerator maxed out on material over 80”, this new model will allow companies to efficiently and effectively jog and aerate board (or other similarly thick material) up to 120” in length. This new model utilizes Woodward’s expertise in the manufacture of jogger aerators in a way that suits material of such a large size. The framing and practically every part and component of this new model are enlarged and modified over those of previous models so as to be effective on material of such size. The impetus behind this product was the new digital high-speed printers that are able to accommodate material of such a large sizes. Woodward rightfully claims that, as of now, no similar product is available on the market.
Woodward Jogger Aerators has noticed an increased amount of interest from their customers in machinery that can handle larger formatted material. Currently, the largest jogger aerator we produce is a machine designed to handle material up to 60” x 80”. It seems that as a result of the new digital printers being manufactured, there is a new trend where companies are printing more and more material that exceeds 80” and can reach a maximum sheet size of 120”. No one in the market is selling a jogger aerator or pile turner that can handle such large material in large quantities. Woodward is doing everything they can to produce a machine for this market. Woodward sent out their shop foreman and one of their lead engineers to Fibre Converters in Constantine, MI to meet with Director of Operations Mark Schuppel and other members of his team. Fibre Converters is currently running material up to 120’’ on a jogger aerator designed for small material with some success; however, they are significantly limited by the maximum weight capacity of this smaller machine. They are also concerned about the wear and tear caused to their machine by this application. They are one of companies that would benefit greatly from a larger jogger aerator or pile turner that Woodward hopes to create. Ideas were bounced back and forth, and after
Over the last few months, Woodward has seen an increase in customers sending their machines to be rebuilt. Woodward has Jogger Aerators and Pile Turners in the field that have been in operation since the 1970’s. In an attempt to save money on a new machine, our customers with older machines will send them in to be rebuilt. When the machine is returned, it runs and looks as if it were brand new. There is also a 6- month warranty on all parts. What kind of work goes into a factory rebuilt Jogger Aerator or Pile Turner? Once the machine arrives, it is fully stripped down to the frame. All parts are cleaned, inspected, and tested. Anything that looks worn or damaged will get replaced. Any part that isn’t working correctly during testing will also get replaced. Woodward will also put many new parts on a machine regardless of condition. All rebuilds get new chains, sprockets, hydraulic hoses, vibrators, vibrator springs, and all cylinders will either be replaced or repacked. The machine is then reassembled, painted, and tested for 2-3 days in our shop to ensure the Jogger Aerator or Pile Turner is operating the way it is supposed to. It doesn’t happen very often, but there are times Woodward customers will trade in their old machine for a different model. We will then take
Many printing and packaging companies around the world are experiencing the many benefits of owning a Woodward jogger aerator. One of the many ways a jogger aerator can positively affect your company is by increasing efficiency and productivity. If you are in the printing and packaging industry, and don’t own one of our machines, there is a good chance you have one or two employees manipulating your piles of material by hand. Whether your employees are trying to flip over the entire load by 180 degrees, separate sheets to reduce static cling, or neatly stack your material for the next step of the manufacturing process, this can be a very time- consuming task. After speaking with plant managers all over the world, it seems like the average amount of time it would take to re-work a pile of material by hand is anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes. Not only does this take up a lot of time, but it can also take a toll on the employees’ bodies. Using a Woodward jogger aerator would allow 1 employee to flip over material, reduce static cling, and neatly stack the material, all in under 5 minutes. In addition to saving time by utilizing a Woodward jogger aerator, you will also notice increased productivity after the jogging and aerating cycle is complete. We have
All of Woodward’s jogger aerators and pile turners are 100% manufactured and assembled in the USA either in New Jersey or Arizona. None are subject to any tariffs either in effect today or being proposed. All major components used in these machines are fabricated in- house in Woodward’s production shops. Although tempted by the cost savings, Woodward maintains that the components made overseas have not meet their standards in either quality of craftmanship or durability. Woodward is proud that on average their jogger aerators and pile turners have been lasting 30 to 40 years without needing any serious repairs. This is true even for those customers running these machines in shifts on a 24 by 7 basis. A great feature and advantage to building their machines in the United State is that Woodward has a full parts room stocked with all of the components that make up their jogger aerators. If a part ever needs to be replaced on a jogger aerator, there is a very high chance Woodward will have that part in stock and can ship it out on the same day. Even the parts that are custom made can be built within 1 to 2 business days from the time the order is placed. Woodward provides their customers choices for shipping prices on everything from ground shipments to Next Day Early AM.
Over 60 years ago, Woodward invented the pile turner and the jogger aerator and now they are in use all over the world: What Are Pile Turners and Jogger Aerators? Pile turners and jogger aerators are both pieces of equipment used in the printing and packaging industry. The pile turner machine is generally used by these companies in order to print on both sides of the material or to swap out older pallets for newer ones. The jogger aerator, in addition to flipping loads like a pile turner, blows a steady flow of air through the material to be printed and vibrates the sheets. The air and vibration combined work to remove all static buildup, dust etc. within the load and during this process the jogger aerator creates a smooth gripper edge to prevent any bottleneck occurring at the next steps in the production line. The Woodward P-Series 6080 The Woodward P-Series 6080 jogger aerator is the heaviest of this type of machine on the market. Recently, Woodward upgraded the P6080 to feature a more powerful blower than they have ever used to ensure that the machine can effectively jog and aerate material up to 80 inches long (provided the sheets are at least .055” thick). An additional “air volume control” option is available on this model which allows users to modify and adjust
